DIY Chalkboard Art Center/Snack Holder

Winner for the Manna Organics Giveaway is announced at the bottom of the post HERE!

I am stepping out of my element of writing and sharing ideas about recipes, fruit and veggie ideas, and anything food related to bring you a DIY post.

I made this art center for a child’s birthday present, while I made it my kids kept asking for one too!  So, I bought more materials and decided to make one for my kids and then one for another family that we are close to.

I found some green wooden trays on clearance at Hobby Lobby and covered them in chalkboard paint.

It took 2-3 coats to fully cover them.

I also found these tin buckets on clearance….

so I covered them with a couple of coats of chalkboard paint.

Next, I attached heavy duty round magnets to the bottoms of the buckets and then attached 6 heavy duty round magnets to the bottom of the tray.  This will keep the buckets secure to the tray as it is carried around.

Then I wrote on each bucket what art supplies it would hold, and then added the art supplies!!

What makes this so fun is that it can go from an art center to a snack station in minutes!!  When my kids have friends over I can place snacks in each bucket and write on the bucket what each contains!! SUPER FUN!!

Can you think of any ideas to use this for??  What would you put in it?

Keep an eye out for a post using this as a snack center!!  🙂
