They look like peanut butter cookies, don’t they??
Don’t be fooled though!! They do not contain peanuts or peanut butter!! Both of my kids are allergic to peanuts and peanut butter so I had to come up with a version that was still yummy but safe for my kids to eat!!
So what we have here is sunflower seed butter cookies!!!
Here is the recipe!!
Sunflower Seed Cookies
1 and 1/2 cups of whole wheat pastry flour
1-2 scoops protein powder (optional: I wanted to increase the protein content in these cookies)
1/2 cup of sunflower seed butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup cane sugar or coconut sugar
1/4 cup agave, maple syrup or honey
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. sea salt
2-3 tbsp. almond milk
Mix dry ingredients in bowl first. Add in wet ingredients and mix well. Roll into balls and place on cookie sheet. Use a fork to make criss cross patterns. Bake at 350* for 6-8 minutes.
What is your favorite cookie??
